Welcome to LINCH
Mission Statement:
Our Institute strives towards exciting new approaches to contemporary English storytelling. We set out to challenge the end-of-history paradigm, with the aim of handing back real choicemaking to the people who need it most.
"A striking experiment in creative truth-telling"
Working with eyewitness stories and other primary sources, we offer anonymity and deniability backed up by voice encryption and ultra-secure archiving. With our proven track record in journalistic source protection, we can promise that your version of events will remain confidential for as long as you want.
Gathering eyewitness stories, we apply connectivity theory when we work multiple testimonies together with documentary and probability-derived evidence. The aim is to co-create ideal truths through a single, historically coherent narrative.
Our History
In 2020, two young academics from Liverpool joined forces with a writer from London to conduct an experiment in telling historical fact in new and exciting ways. This early collaboration - often provocative, always fascinating - exposed a need to synthesise journalism with whistleblowing and historical creativity. So was born the Institute for New Connective History. We found our creative home in Liverpool's thriving Knowledge Quarter.
Opportunities for All
We offer variable-length fellowship opportunities to the best and brightest creative historians (check out current fellowship opportunities here). Note that we are proud to select positively for young people, people from challenging economic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ and BAME.
